National institute of Technology, Meghalaya is also known by the name of NIT Meghalaya and it one of the premium national institutes of technology. The institute is located in Shillong and this national institute of technology started its venture in 2010. However, at that time, the institute has no separate campus and the students had to attend their classes in the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology.
The chairman of this public university is Mr. D. K. Basu and its honorable director is Mr. Bibhuti Bhushan Biswal. NIT Meghalaya has ranked 98th among all of the engineering colleges in India according to the NIRF in 2018. At this moment, the institute is offering education in Mechanical Engineering, CSE, EEE, ECE and Civil Engineering.
