Indian Institute of Information Technology is situated in Manipur and it is a public-private partnership institute. Established in 2015, the campus of this institute is located at Senapati District in Manipur. This institute of information technology is a part of the PPP model initiative by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. According to the PPP model, 20 new public-private partnership universities are to be built in India and this institute is one of them.

Its directors is Mr. Amrendra Kumar Das. Located at the heart of Imphal, the campus of this institute is urban. This institute is solely dedicated to the education and research of information technology and it is fully funded by the government of India, Government of Manipur and its industry partner is IT SEZ Project Development Company.
