Tamil Nadu Agricultural University

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is one of the oldest agricultural institutes in India. Situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, this public university has been founded in 1906. Right now, it has over 7,500 students.

It was basically an agricultural school established in 1868. After that, in 1906, it became Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. In 1920, it became affiliated to Madras University as well.

At present, the university is offering 13 undergraduate programs. It also offers 40 graduate programs. Along with, it is offering 27 doctoral programs. In 2007, the university switched over to e-learning process and that is why, it made mandatory that each and every student must have a laptop.

Apart from the main campus, the university is offering research programs in 32 places, spread over the Tamil Nadu. Over 1200 scientists and teachers are related closely with the research and academic programs of this university.

According to the QS World University Ranking, this university ranks 105^th in 2018. It is ranked 40^th in overall India in accordance with the NIRF.

The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University are providing a wide deal of extra-curricular activities along with the educational programs. It arranges yearly sports and cultural programs. In addition, it also arranges yearly technological programs where the scholars could release their papers and journals. Along with that, it continuously arranges several seminars on different research topics. Apart from the key university base, it also has 15 constituent colleges.
