Caribbean medical school students move on to Lincoln Memorial University campus

More than 1300 students and staff members moved to Lincoln Memorial University campus after the campus of Caribbean medical school were evacuated because of Hurricane Maria. After having narrowly escaped the pathway of Hurricane Irma, the students of Caribbean medical school shifted to Lincoln Memorial University campus when their university became a target of the Hurricane Maria.

Renicker, a student of the Caribbean medical school, said, "We didn't feel we had that much time to dedicate to all this hurricane preparation nonsense because we needed to study for the exams.

That quickly changed in a matter of few hour and we went into survival mode." The students started off their spring semester at the Lincoln Memorial University campus after been shifted from their home campus.

 

 LMU was renovating some recent new blocks of the building which it needed for expanding the university, which has been now leased to the Carribean Medical School. The chair of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Pete Debusk responded "Most of these kids are American kids, and I think it's only just right that we step up and help them. I think it's a good thing for us to do and a good thing for Knoxville to do."
