Overview

We are the proud winner of Maternity and Infant Awards 2016 for ' Best Innovative Learning Initiative' for our Forest School Programme & 2nd Place ' Best Indoor Environment',' We also won 'The Best Private Creche of the year' in the Maternity & Infant Awards 2015 & 2013 &Finalist and Runner up in 2014.

Kilminchy School House (KSH) is recognised for the highest quality and best practice in Montessori under the EOCP by St. Nicholas Montessori College. We are currently enrolling for the FREE PLAY SCHOOL Year for Sept 2018 & 2019.

KSH are participating providers for the TEC / CETS(Parents studying certain courses in FAS, Further Education or VEC) & the ECCE Scheme (Free Play- School year) for Sept 2018. To avoid disappointment and avail of the ECCE Scheme, please call for an appointment or register your interest.

KSH has been operating since September 1999 and currently provides Montessori Sessional and Full Day Care in addition to other activities to children from 12-15 months- to 6yrs.

Kilminchy School House is a privately run Montessori School and Day Care Centre, and is open virtually all year round to facilitate parents needs. We offer a number of different options to facilitate working parents including: Sessional/ Part-time/ Full Day Care/ After School Care/ ECCE & CETS/TEC. Prospective parents are invited to discuss the best option in meeting their needs

We implement the National Curriculum Framework - Aistear through many Early -Years schemes to enhance our curriculum and the individual needs of the child including Montessori, Steiner & Reggio elements, Forest School, Primary Movement, in additon to Project Eye, Wide Eye, Puppet Company and Project Bubbles elements.

The Montessori approach is unique. It is based on a balance between freedom and structure especially designed for the young child. Doctor Maria Montessori, the first physician in Italy, developed a philosophy which later inspired vast changes to modern education. She recognised that children have an innate desire to explore and learn, and developed and approach which encourages and maximises each child’s learning potential.
