Intro The Athboy Community Childcare Centre opened in September 2004. It is a large bright secure purpose built childcare facility.

We provide high quality, professional and affordable childcare in a friendly, caring, warm and welcoming environment. Our open door policy and unique “settling in period” offers peace of mind to all parents.

The centre operates Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 7.00pm, 51 weeks of the year. We cater for children from 3 months to 12 years. We offer full & part-time day-care, breakfast and afterschool club. We provide a wide and varied nutritious menu and cater for all diets.

All our staff are fully qualified and dedicated childcare practitioners. The centre currently employs 16 staff and 7 CE (community employment) workers. Seven of the 16 staff have been with us since we opened. Our curriculum is devised and implemented by the staff using the Aistear and Siolta framework. We have two secure outdoor play areas and a large polytunnel providing creative and diverse experiences for all age groups.

The Athboy Childcare Centre offer the ECCE scheme to children who are eligible. We also have allocated places for children under CETS (childcare education & training scheme and CCS (community childcare subvention scheme).

The Athboy Community Childcare works closely with both the HSE and Enable Ireland for the benefit of the children in the community. Our service is notified to the HSE and we comply with Child Care (Pre-School Services) Regulations 2006.
