We are a small homely Montessori and Afterschool facility in the heart of Ballinteer.

We follow the Montessori method of teaching and have highly qualified Montessori teachers. We offer a range of facilities to suit everyones needs. Full day care from 7.30am – 6.30pm.

This includes our pre Montessori session or Montessori session depending on the age of your child. It is vital to us at Absorbent Minds that your child is in a stimulating ,happy and secure environment , where all their needs are catered for and their full potential reached. Our aim is to care for and support your child through their early years education in conjunction with you the parents.

Our Pre-Montessori session runs from 9.00am – 12.30pm each day. We have a maximum of 10 children in the class room with 2 teachers. We have a range of activities in place geared towards this particular age group. Activities include painting, baking, imaginative play, story time, outdoor play and music. The children are also introduced to the concepts of numbers, sounds, shapes and colours.

Our Montessori session runs from 9.00am – 1.00pm each day. The Montessori method is used in this classroom. We start the session with Circle Time during which the children tell each other their news and the “theme of the week” is introduced. Themes range from the solar system to the seasons and we link the theme into all our art and craft activities. During the morning the children have the freedom to move around the classroom choosing their own work. The teachers give the children guidance and assistance with whatever work the children choose. This method of teaching encourages independence and inspires self confidence in each child.

Our Afterschool session starts at 1.30pm. We have a collection service from the local schools. We have a homework session as soon as the children arrive from school. Homework is supervised by our Montessori teachers. Dinner follows this and is a social time to catch up on the day and learn what the children have been doing. We have a range of activities to suit your child's needs from football and basketball to painting, beading and baking.
