Manipur University is a public university located in Imphal, Manipur. The university campus is rural in nature and it is spread across an area of 287 acres. It has affiliation with UGC and NAAC. The honourable vice chancellor of this university is Prof. Adya Prasad Pandey.

To be precise, the university campus is located in Cachipur, about 7 km away from Imphal. The campus is also located in a historic place and the old palace of the Kingdom of Manipur is situated in the campus. The main infrastructure of this university was built in 1827 by King or Maharaja Gambhir Singh and at the same year, Manipur was liberated from the older Burma.
