Global Open University emerges with the motto, ‘Equiping life teaching professional and vocational courses’ and it is a Nagaland State Government Legislated University. Established in 2006, this university has become an integral part of educational advancement of the state of Nagaland. It has two campuses located in Dimapur and Kohima.

Honourable governor of Nagaland is the chancellor of this university and its director is Mr. M. Y. Ngullie.
