William Carey University emerges with the motto, ‘Expect Great Things From God; Attempt Great Things For God’, and it is a state private university located in Shillong, Meghalaya. Named after the Noted Baptist William Carey, this university is a unique institution providing higher education to yield the academic as well as socio-economic betterment.

In order to restore a holistic growth throughout the state of Meghalaya, this university brings together the social, environmental, economic and academic activities. This state private university was established in 2005 and its chairman is Prof. Ken Gnanakan. Its vice chancellor is Dr. Anand Gupta and the university is offering higher education in various fields of study.

A brief Overview of the institution

  • At present, the institution is offering Under graduate and post graduate courses. It has several schools and departments offering outstanding tutoring experience. All of the facilities are equipped with first-rated tools and instruments, so that the students could get the best out of them with utmost perfection.
  • The campus area has all the modern amenities for the students. It contains a vast computer lab. The library of this institution is well-distinguishably rich. It contains Wi-Fi zones for the students.
  • The institution offers an e-portal of information for the students through their websites, so that the students could be up-to-dated with all essential information.  
  • In addition, it also provides transportation for the students. Furthermore, the campus offers cafeteria and canteen as well. It has a medical facility available for the students. For better accommodation of the academic staffs and research scholars, it has separate residential buildings.
