NITTE is officially known as NITTE deemed to be university and it is an upbeat higher education institute located in Derlakatte, Mangalore. This university was founded and funded by NITTE education trust. NITTE has three campuses located in NITTE, Mangalore and Bangalore. This university has received the ‘deemed to be university’ status in 2008.

It emerges with the motto, ‘Quality Education - an Abiding Commitment’ and the honorable chancellor of this academic institute is Mr. N. Vinaya Hegde. Located in Mangalore, Karnata, the main university campus is urban in nature and it is spread across a wide area of land. However, this university has been accredited with a grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This university has ranked 77^th among all of the universities in India in 2018.
