Birla Global University was formerly known as Birla Institute of Management Technology and it was established in 2013. This relatively new private university campus is located Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. The university was founded by Mr. Basant Kumar Birla and Ms. Sarla Birla. The university launched its journey as an institute of management and technology in 2013. The institution was later transformed in to the Birla Global University and it was funded by the Birla Family. 

Established in 2013, this institution was approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. At his moment, it is offering under graduate and post graduate courses in various fields of studies. The university has another campus in Greater Noida.

The chairperson of this institution is Mr. Jayashree Mohta and its vice chancellor is Prof. Dr. Sudhakar Panda. Located in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, the university campus is spread across an area of 30 acres. The university is affiliated to University Grant Commission or UGC, just like all of the universities of India.
