Mizoram Institute of Medical Education and Research is the first medical college in Mizoram and it was established in 8^th August, 2018. This research institute and medical college is situated about 16 km away from the Aizawl, Mizoram. In short, this institute is known as MIMER and the institute is anticipated to meet the growing demands of doctors in Mizoram.

Prof. Lallukhum Fimate is the Director of this research institute and at this moment, it has 100 under graduate students. The institute campus is spread across a spacious area and it is semi urban in nature. This institute has its affiliation with Mizoram University and Medical Council of India.
