Tripura University, Agartala is the leading public university in Tripura. Situated in the heart of Suryamaninagar, Agartala, this university has been offering high-quality education since 1987. The students could pursue their education in Tripura university in both English and Bengali.

Being the leading public university in Tripura, the Tripura University has over 1,000 of academic staffs. It is conducting several UG, PG and doctoral programs and the number of UG students is 5,750. The number of PG students is 1,203 and it has over 100 research scholars pursuing doctoral programs. 

The main campus is located in Suryamaninagar and it is 10 km away from the city center of Agartala. The university has several affiliated colleges. However, for the students, the university offers almost each and every kind of modern facilities including hostel facility, transportation and bank/ATM. In addition, it also conducts annual cultural and sports events.

In addition to the traditional education, the Tripura University also offer distance education. Furthermore, it has one of the largest central libraries in Tripura with a vast collection of books and the university subscribes to a large lot of journals and newspapers. In accession, the university offers e-journal to make the students up to date with all kinds of activities.
