General information, Birsa Agricultural University

Birsa Agricultural University is one of the finest agricultural universities in India and it is located in Kanke, Ranchi, Jharkhand. It was established in 1981 and since then, it has been serving the nation with its research and educational facilities. It is a public university and its Vice chancellor is Parvinder Kaushal. Located in Kanke, Ranchi, the university campus is urban in nature and its affiliation is with UGC.  

The primary objective of this university is to train the manpower in the area of agriculture, animal husbandry, agricultural engineering and forestry in the region of Bihar and Jharkhand. In accession, its another target is to uplift the economic status of the tribal people. Through the various facilities of the university, different sorts of programs are carried out in education, research as well as in extension. The university has four schools and here is a list of them.
