Belding serves as a model of the neighborhood school, providing a superior educational experience for 600 students who speak over 25 languages from the Old Irving Park, Mayfair and West Walker neighborhoods.

Test scores at Belding continue to be among the highest in the city and continue to improve each year due to excellent teachers and instruction. Belding is a Level 1+ school as rated by the CPS Performance Policy. This is the highest possible rating.

Our assemblies and annual spring musical production are highlights for parents, community members and students. The Belding Parent Group provides valuable support for our school by organizing parent volunteers, coordinating school-wide activities and raising funds for curricular and extra-curricular activities.  Parents are an integral part of the school.  The Belding Parent Group provides valuable support for our school by raising funds for after-school programs, assemblies and the annual spring musical production.  Friends of Belding is not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization focused on fundraising via corporate and governmental grants.  Both organizations, along with the Bilingual Parent Advisory Council, work together to mobilize parent volunteers and coordinate school-wide activities, such as the annual International Fest.
