Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute is a public research-based institute located in Karaikal, Pondicherry. The agricultural institute was established in 1987 and it is affiliated to the Pondicherry university. However, previously, it was affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Although, the institute was established in 1987, it received the status of a research institute in 1997 and it has been named as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute.

The university campus is spread over 225 acres of lands with six ponds and a mini botanical garden with orchard, garden land and wet land. It has also cultivable area for seed production, cultivation as well as research purpose.

Along with outstanding educational and research facilities, the university has well-furnished hostels for both boys and girls.
