Overview

Happy Days Montessori school, Crinkle, Birr, Co Offaly is one of the top facilities of its kind in the midlands.

HSE approved, all the staff are highly qualified and Garda vetted. Your child may avail of the ECCE free pay school year at Happy Days Montessori School. Happy Days provides a comprehensive full care service including a Montessori service, a full Day Care service and an after school club from Monday to Friday.

The full day care service runs from 8 a.m to 6 p.m, which covers Montessori in the morning and a wide range of activities in the afternoon. The Montessori runs from 9.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m and covers a wide range of activities including the Aistear curriculum. Aistear is the curriculum framework for children from birth to six years and it provides learning and development through the four interconnected themes of well being, identity and belonging, communicating, exploring and thinking.

Activities for Montessori are as follows;

practical life

circle time

cooking

arts and crafts

sensorial

physical education

music and free play

language

short time, letterland and numbers

culture (Irish words, poems)

and maths.

Also, new to Happy Days is a weekly YOGA class provided by professional yoga teacher, Ana Alves Smyth, yoga with meditation and story telling. According to Ana, yoga will benefit each child by improving their their creativity, self expression and self confidence as well as promoting their health and wellness.

The After School club starts at 2 p.m and runs until 6 p.m. This provides supervised homework, snacks and juices, arts and crafts, games, physical education, outdoor play in the garden, wii and Xbox. They also have a seven seater available for all school pick ups including Montessori pick ups and bringing home.

A top summer camp is also planned running from

July 21st- July 25th and

July 28th- August 1st. This includes

cooking,

bar-b-que,

arts and crafts,

picnic in Birr castle,

sports,

Buntas,

waterslide,

bouncy castle etc.

It caters for 3 to 12 years olds with snacks and juices provided.
