Our aim is to enhance the development of your child by learning through Play. Here in our purpose built premises we value your child as a unique individual and we offer them the opportunity to play and learn in a quality safe home from home environment.

Grove Playgroup is the longest established purpose built playgroup in the Castleknock/Laurel Lodge area. We offer both indoor and outdoor play opportunities for your child. A variety of equipment, toys and learning materials, including sand, water, paint, playdough, library corner, home corner, table top toys and construction equipment are all provided on a daily basis. We are fully insured and notified to the local Health Service Executive. We also operate the FREE ECCE preschool scheme.

Curriculum

Our eclectic play curriculum at Grove Playgroup embraces both Síolta the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education (CECDE, 2006) and Aistear the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework (NCCA, 2009) as required by the HSE. Our room layout has been influenced by the Highscope curriculum and we incorporate many practical life skills from the Montessori curriculum. Our knowledge of child development theory underpins our curriculum where we stimulate, challenge and support the child to be an active learner. StaffThe playgroup is owner run and all staff are highly experienced, fully qualified, friendly and have a long service history with the playgroup. Continuity is a very important principle here at the Grove Playgroup. Links with the community We have a variety of links with the community including visits from the Community Garda, Lollypop Lady, Ambulance service, local clergy among others.

Hours of opening

We operate a sessional service from 9.00 – 12.00 Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be available on request. Visits are welcome both during and after playgroup hours and we operate an open door policy.
