Further Information

Now entering our 24th year we provide a fun learning experience for children to develop and grow while preparing them for primary school.

Our facilities include a large bright well equipped classroom with wet area, full toilet facilities and a large secure outdoor play area/garden which we use as much as possible.

As member of Early Childhood Ireland we believe that children should have lots of fun while learning and our play based curriculum offers lots of fun learning opportunities for your child through play, painting, sand, water, play dough, puzzles, games, sport, music, dance, art and craft, outdoor play, stories, circle time and nature walks.

Through the various activities, crafts, and different kinds of play that your children will experience at preschool they will be improving hand-eye co-ordination, spatial awareness and fine and gross motor skills. Your child will also be forming friendships, building social skills and gaining independence which helps when starting school. We believe that this is the time when your child will discover that he wants to learn to read and write and by encouraging and offering appropriate activities we hope that your child will, among other things, acquire the skills needed for reading and writing.

Kilmacanogue Preschool is HSE notified, registered and inspected. We implement Aistear (The Early Childhood Curriculum Framework) through our play-based curriculum. In Kilmacanogue Preschool we achieve the goals of childhood as identified by Aistear through the context of play and caring relationships with adults and peers. In this way we hope to build strong links between care and education in the early years and so establish the child's right to learn through play in a safe nurturing and stimulating environment.
