Intro

Clever Clogs was established in 2007, we care for children from infancy to 12 years of age. We offer family daycare, pre-school and afterschool services.

As we are based in a rural setting we aim to reflect this by providing a large outdoor space which is securely enclosed with a recent addition of an extra outdoor play area which includes space for our vegetable garden, chicken coop and fruit trees, encouraging the children to expand their experience and interactions within this outdoor learning environment.

The service is housed in a purpose built facility incorporating two separate buildings including rooms for our daycare facility, a toddler age group playgroup and a pre-school building for ECCE children which doubles up for use in the afternoons for our after-school children.

We provide a high quality service to our families and community and are open all year round with flexible care options designed to meet the needs of working families in our day care, opening 5 days a week from 7.30am to 6pm.

Within the service we operate through both a High/Scope and Montessori curriculum providing education and care programmes designed to the needs of each child, fostering the belief that each child is an individual with a varied range of abilities and needs and viewing each child’s learning in a holistic manner.

We have a staff of six childcare practitioners, all of our staff have a minimum of level 5 qualifications, some of our more experienced staff having additional qualifications to diploma level in childcare, Montessori and High/Scope teaching with experience lengths in childcare ranging from 2 – 5 years with staff delivering educations programmes ranging from 14 – 22 yrs.

Within the service we follow the philosophy that care and education go hand in hand for children and that the journey of education only begins here with young children and will continue through their lives and this is also reflected within our staff as they are supported to continue on with their active professional development to achieve a higher standard for themselves and the children in their care.
