Overview

First Steps Preschool and Crèche has over 10 years’ experience providing childcare in Arklow. We are within easy reach of all the schools in the Arklow Area.

At First Steps we provide a home away from home environment for all children attending our service. Our aim is to provide a safe, secure and above all fun environment where children can learn, grow and develop at their own pace. They are guided and encouraged by our experienced staff to reach their full potential.

We strive to provide the highest standard of care and education in a play based environment at an affordable price. We believe each child is an individual and should be allowed to develop at their own pace. At First Steps, we adhere to the Siolta and Aistear framework of play based, child lead learning, allowing each child to develop to their full potential. We believe learning should be fun and with plenty of activities.

We have plenty of both indoor and outdoor activities available. Our facilities include; Crèche with Separate Sleeping area. Pre-School Room with; reading corner, play areas, work areas, dressing up area, quite area and a nature table. Outdoor soft mat play area, seed planting area and nature area.

All of our Staff are fully qualified.

As part of our program we will have a weekly number, colour, shape and alphabet letter theme which will change every week. You will see the different themes in the children’s work sheets, colouring pages, paintings and arts & crafts. We will also have an overall theme which will change every two weeks. Such as Baking, Autumn, Halloween, Winter, Music, Healthy Eating, Insects, Christmas, Zoo Animals etc… Our pre-school program involves a variety of activities including;  Learning - Numbers, Shapes, Colours and the Alphabet

Crèche: 8am to 6pm

Pre-School: 9:30 to 12:30 & 2:00 to 5:00

Afterschool: 2pm to 6pm

School Pick up and Drop off Available

We cater for children from 1 year upwards.
