Eleanor’s Private Playgroup/Montessori, Leinster View”, Ferns, Co. Wexford “established for 34 years, together with caring and qualified staff encourage the children in our care to learn through play.

We cater for children from 2 years to 5 years, we offer the free ECCE scheme for children aged between 2 years and 3 months and 4 years 6 months.

We also offer a very reasonable fee for younger children.

We operate on a Sessional bases and our opening hours are 9.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. five days per week.

We endeavour to make their preschool days a pleasant, enjoyable and memorable experience.

We are at the moment welcoming parents with their children who are pointing out to them’ I came to this playgroup when I was your age’.

In our newly refurbished playrooms, one is referred to as the Blue room and the other is the Red Room we provide a curriculum which is planned under the national curriculum of Aistear.

The children’s Well-being, Identity and belonging, Communication, and Exploring and thinking developmental areas will be encouraged by making their own decisions and choices, through sharing information, celebrating local and national festivities, arts and crafts, child led and adult led activities.

Our morning’s timetable consists of settling in of the children when the children are encouraged to choose an activity and take it to a chair at a table, when all the children are settled in we have free play when the children explore the playroom and enjoy dressing up and role play, the home corner, the table top toys, painting and arts and crafts, the sand box, the book area and the Montessori equipment. The children will at all times be supervised and observed, in order to establish the learning outcomes for the children from the activities.

Our curriculum includes, visits from people from different careers who share their experiences with the children, we include, drama, singing, dancing, yoga, Zumba, football, hurling, balancing on the outdoor balancing boards, playing on our tower and slide and sand play. The children can enjoy outdoor play in our extensive sensory play areas and experience fresh air and the sounds and smells of nature.

We are available to discuss your child’s stage of development. We welcome visits from parents and their input into our curriculum and timetable. After six appointments are available on request to facilitate working parents.
